The FCH654 Carbon Fiber HLCD pairs a composite midrange cone with an integrated horn-loaded compression driver. Specifically, the horn puts high-frequency output where you point it instead of scattering it.

Horn-Loaded Compression Driver

Unlike a conventional coaxial tweeter, the FCH654 mounts its compression driver behind a horn flare. As a result, efficiency climbs and the speaker projects rather than radiates. Moreover, it extends high-frequency response without a separate tweeter install. Each pair includes 12dB-per-octave crossovers with PTC protection, and the FCH654 is bi-amp capable so midrange and tweeter can run on separate channels.

Ferrite Motor and Serviceable Diaphragm

The FCH654 runs a ferrite motor in a cast aluminum frame, making it the budget-friendly alternative to the NEO-powered LBN654. Meanwhile, the 1.5″ wet-wound copper voice coil handles sustained power. However, a damaged tweeter does not mean replacing the speaker — service the field-replaceable diaphragm with the FCH-140TD.4 instead. As a result, at 97 dB average sensitivity, the FCH654 gets loud on modest power without straining the amplifier.
