Tinsel Lead Wire forms the high-flex electrical path between the voice coil and the speaker’s external terminals. Unlike standard stranded wire, tinsel leads use multiple fine copper strands wrapped around a textile or synthetic core. This design provides extreme flexibility, preventing metal fatigue and breakage under continuous cone excursion. We stock flat braided leads for smooth routing and reduced stress at the cone, as well as round and insulated styles for higher voltage isolation and heat resistance. Diameter and braid density directly affect current capacity, making proper sizing critical for SPL systems and high-power applications. Using precision-matched tinsel leads ensures consistent conductivity, mechanical reliability, and long service life in demanding subwoofer and loudspeaker builds.
