8.5″ x 3″ Dual Layer Linear Roll Spider Pack

The 8.5 x 3 dual layer spider pack combines two layers of poly-cotton into a single suspension assembly. Specifically, the dual-layer construction provides increased suspension stiffness and support compared with a comparable single-layer spider. Spider requirements depend on moving mass, excursion, geometry, material, and operating conditions. However, some subwoofer designs require additional suspension support.

Our 8.5 x 3 spider pack uses two layers of poly-cotton to create a stiffer suspension than a comparable single-layer spider. Additionally, stacking multiple spider packs increases suspension stiffness when the design requires additional support.

Poly-Cotton Spider 

This poly-cotton spider pack uses fabric and resin treatment to establish its shape and suspension characteristics. Material, resin treatment, corrugation geometry, and layer count determine the mechanical behavior of the spider.

Furthermore, stacking additional subwoofer spiders increases overall suspension stiffness.

Linear Roll Spider

This dual layer spider pack uses a linear-roll corrugation design. However, spider stiffness changes as excursion increases. Therefore, the linear-roll geometry is designed for controlled suspension behavior throughout its intended operating range.

Subwoofer spider behavior depends on geometry, material, resin treatment, layer count, and the completed driver assembly.
