8″ x 2.5″ Progressive spider feature a varying roll or corrugation pattern, with compliance increasing (becoming stiffer) as displacement increases. The inner rolls are softer, while the outer rolls are stiffer. Made from Nomex fabric impregnated with stiffening resin, the design allows for variations in stiffness across the spider. This results in a non-linear compliance characteristic, meaning the restoring force increases as the voice coil moves further from its rest position.

8″ x 2.5″ progressive roll spider offers an extended dynamic range, handling greater excursions and higher power levels due to the increasing stiffness, making them suitable for high-power applications.
