Turning the t-shirt inside out helps protect the heat transfer design from direct contact with other clothes and surfaces in the washing machine.

Select a gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine. This reduces the agitation and friction that could potentially damage the heat transfer.

Wash the t-shirt in cold water. Hot water can cause the adhesive of the heat transfer to weaken and peel.

Use a mild detergent that is gentle on colors and fabrics. Harsh detergents can cause the heat transfer to deteriorate over time.

Avoid using bleach or any harsh chemicals, as they can damage the heat transfer image and the fabric.

Fabric softeners can affect the adhesive of the heat transfer. It’s best to skip using fabric softener when washing these types of garments.

After washing, remove the t-shirt from the washing machine promptly. Air drying is the gentlest option, as high heat from a dryer can cause the heat transfer to crack or peel. If you must use a dryer, use a low heat setting.

If the care label permits, you can iron the t-shirt inside out. Place a thin cloth or parchment paper over the heat transfer design before ironing to protect it. Avoid high heat settings on the iron.
