8.5″ x 3″ Linear Roll Spider

The 8.5 x 3 linear roll spider uses single-layer poly-cotton construction with a uniform corrugation design. Specifically, this spider is available in non-leaded and leaded configurations.

Single Layer Spider

The 8.5″ spider uses a single layer of poly-cotton. However, suspension requirements depend on moving mass, excursion, geometry, material, and operating conditions.

Additionally, multiple linear roll spiders can be stacked when greater suspension stiffness is required. Adding spider layers increases total suspension stiffness and reduces overall compliance.

Poly-Cotton Spider

This spider uses poly-cotton fabric and resin treatment to establish its shape and suspension characteristics. Therefore, material, resin treatment, corrugation geometry, and layer count determine the mechanical behavior of the suspension.

Furthermore, the single layer spider can be stacked with compatible spiders to increase suspension stiffness.

Linear Roll Design

The linear roll spider uses uniform corrugation geometry. However, spider stiffness changes as excursion increases. Therefore, actual suspension behavior depends on corrugation geometry, material, resin treatment, layer count, and the completed driver assembly.
