L3045 Black Rubber Speaker Repair Glue
L3045 Black Rubber Speaker Repair Glue is a medium viscosity (1,500-2,500 cps) rubber based cement. Formulated to meet high performance, durability and industrial requirements geared towards the loudspeaker industry. It’s specially formulated for attaching surrounds of almost any composition to cones. Also works for attaching dust caps. It has excellent adhesion to painted surfaces. When properly cured L3045 speaker repair glue will withstand 250° F
Before using L3045 always make sure that surface your gluing is clean, dry and free of dirt. For best results, lightly roughen surface before use. For dust caps we recommend scuffing the lip with sand paper and cleaning it off with isopropyl alcohol. When gluing surround to frame first apply glue onto the frame and let it air out for a minute. Then apply surround and press firmly onto frame.
Once applied it usually tacks up in 4 minutes and allowing for plenty of time to make any adjustments needed before parts fully cure. Allow 24 hours for curing. Depending on materials and temperature, maximum strength may not be reached for 48 to 72 hours.
STORAGE AND HANDLING:
The shelf life is at least 6 months. For optimum shelf life of this product, store at temperatures of 60-80 F. Lower temperatures will cause increased viscosity of a temporary nature, whereas higher temperatures may have a permanent effect on viscosity.
L3045 is made of solvents and will evaporate if container is not closed. If after storing it for a long period of time and it starts to thicken, you can dilute it with toluene or MEK to thin it out. The softening point for this glue is 230° F and max temperature resistance is 250° F
