What Else Do You Need?

Along with the voice coil, you will typically need the correct spider and cone collar to complete the repair. Since replacement cones for the 13W6v2 aren’t available from any suppliers, you’ll need to reuse your existing cone. For that reason, confirm your cone and dust cap are still in good condition before you start. In addition, we carry the matching surround and cone collar to complete your repair.

Glues Needed

Using the right adhesives is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that fails prematurely. So, make sure you have the correct products on hand before you begin.

Recommended adhesives:

• L3890 rubber adhesive (surround to cone)

• EC9501 CA glue (spider to voice coil)

• BEP870 epoxy (spider to voice coil)

• FLXEP860 epoxy (spider to voice coil)

Before you glue, dry-fit parts first and confirm centering. Then let the adhesives cure for at least 24 hours at room temperature before you power the subwoofer.

Dry-fit parts first and confirm alignment before final bonding. Before final assembly, meter the voice coil to confirm the impedance is correct. Then use the proper adhesives for spider-to-voice-coil and cone bonding, and allow full cure time before applying power.
