Our  Orion HCCA dual 2 ohm voice coil features a 4-layer copper-clad aluminum (CCA) wire. It is wound on a black anodized aluminum former specifically designed to enhance heat dissipation during high-power operation. The black anodized aluminum former plays a crucial role in improving thermal conductivity. This helps prevent overheating and increases the voice coil’s durability and resistance to corrosion over time.

By incorporating copper-clad aluminum wire, the voice coil benefits from an optimized balance of conductivity, reduced weight, and cost efficiency. This makes it a high-performance option for demanding audio applications. The unique combination of a copper outer layer and an aluminum core allows the wire to deliver excellent conductivity. Otherwise, attempting to solder without these specialized materials may result in weak joints or even complete connection failure.
