Ultra Gold Solder Flux
Ultra Gold Solder Flux is specifically designed for KA09 Tin-Zinc soldering of Aluminum to Aluminum, Aluminum to Copper, and Aluminum to Stainless Steel. Unlike ordinary fluxes, it is chloride-free, organic-based, and formulated with 56–60% active ingredients (amines and complex inorganic fluorides). As a result, it ensures reliable wetting, strong bond formation, and consistent joints in demanding aluminum soldering applications.
The flux activates effectively between 350–550°F (177–288°C). Therefore, it allows low-temperature soldering while protecting sensitive components. However, avoid overheating since Ultra Gold Flux will char above 550°F (288°C).
Why Choose Ultra Gold Flux?
-
Specifically made for Aluminum Soldering – Standard fluxes fail on aluminum, but this one delivers strong, reliable bonds.
-
Optimized for KA09 Solder – When paired with KA09 Tin-Zinc Solder, it provides maximum reliability and ease of use.
-
Chloride-Free & Organic-Based – Consequently, it reduces long-term corrosion risks compared to aggressive fluxes.
-
Low Electrical Resistance Joints – This feature ensures efficient current flow and less heat buildup.
-
Excellent Flow Characteristics – Furthermore, it penetrates stranded wire and tight capillary joints with ease.
⚠️ Important: Soldering aluminum voice coils without a compatible flux is nearly impossible. We recommend using Ultra Gold Flux only with KA09 solder for the best results.
Recommended Applications:
-
Aluminum to Aluminum or Aluminum to Copper wire pigtail splices
-
Aluminum to Copper, Brass, or plated terminals and contacts
-
Hot dip coating of aluminum cable connectors for a low-resistance surface
-
Aluminum soldering in sound equipment, high voltage, and heating panels
-
Capillary joints and stranded wire that require deep flux penetration
Residue remains slightly corrosive and electrically conductive, so we recommend cleaning with hot water or alcohol after soldering.
