6.4″ x 2″ linear roll spider pack has a consistent roll or corrugation pattern throughout it’s entire surface. The corrugation shape is uniform, providing a consistent restoring force as the voice coil moves. Typically made from fabric impregnated with stiffening resin, the material choice and treatment affect flexibility and durability. This design offers a linear compliance characteristic, meaning the restoring force remains consistent across the entire range of motion.
Our 6.4″ x 2″ Linear Roll multi-layered spider pack offers numerous advantages that boost both performance and durability. These packs increase rigidity and stability by providing multiple layers of support to the voice coil, ensuring it stays centered and reducing the risk of the coil rubbing against the magnet assembly. This added stability enhances the overall reliability of the speaker.
The combined stiffness from a multi-layered spider pack allows the speaker to handle higher power levels without distortion. This is particularly useful in high-performance audio systems that require loud volumes and powerful outputs. In order to properly fix your subwoofer you need to make sure you use the proper glue. When gluing the voice coil to spider and spider to frame we recommend using our black rubber CA glue. Never use rubber cement glue For gluing spiders. Rubber glue should only be used to glue surround lip, dust caps and dressing. Our L3045 black rubber glue is ideal for these applications.
One very important thing to note is that when fixing or building subwoofer(s) using a aluminum voice coil you must us proper soldering flux specifically made for aluminum wire. We offer the soldering flux kit (Ultra Gold Flux) which comes with the proper solder.
