L3045 Black Rubber Speaker Repair Glue is a flexible, waterproof speaker adhesive for surrounds, dust caps, gaskets, lead wires, and general speaker repair.
L3045 Black Rubber Speaker Repair Glue
The L3045 Black Rubber Speaker Adhesive is a medium-viscosity, rubber-based cement formulated for the loudspeaker industry. In addition, it bonds surrounds, dust caps, gaskets, and lead wires to many common speaker materials. As a result, it stays flexible after curing and remains waterproof and vibration resistant.
Speaker Repair Uses
The L3045 Black Rubber Speaker Adhesive works well for a wide range of speaker repair and assembly jobs, including:
-
Replacing and bonding foam or rubber surrounds
-
Attaching dust caps to cones
-
Attaching gaskets to baskets
-
Repairing small holes in cones
-
Bonding surrounds to paper, poly, aluminum, and composite cones
-
Lead-wire dressing
-
Attaching grill cloth to wood or plastic frames
Surface Prep Before Gluing
First, make sure the surface you are gluing is clean, dry, and free of dirt. For best results, lightly roughen the surface before use. For dust caps, scuff the lip with sandpaper and then clean it with isopropyl alcohol.
How to Use L3045 Speaker Adhesive
When gluing a surround to the frame, first apply glue to the frame and allow it to air out for about one minute. Next, apply the surround and press it firmly into place. As a result, the bond starts more evenly and gives you better contact during installation.
Cure Time and Bond Strength
Once applied, the adhesive typically tacks up in about 4 minutes, which gives you time for adjustments. After that, allow 24 hours for full cure. In addition, depending on the materials and temperature, maximum strength may take 48 to 72 hours.
Performance Highlights

Storage & Handling for L3045 Speaker Adhesive
The shelf life is at least 6 months. For best shelf life, store it at 60–80°F. In addition, lower temperatures can temporarily increase viscosity, while higher temperatures may permanently affect viscosity.
Because L3045 is solvent-based, it will evaporate if the container is not sealed properly. Therefore, if it thickens after long storage, thin it with acetone or MEK.
Important Rebuild Note for L3045 Speaker Repair Glue
L3045 is not suitable for bonding a spider to a voice coil. Instead, use CA glue or epoxy for that application.
